One night after everyone had gone to sleep her brother snuck over to her bed and told her to gather all her things. She did this confused to why her brother wanted her to gather all her stuff and followed her brother to an open window. Since they were both kind of skinny for living in an orphanage with a bunch of kids they were able to fit through the window.
After fleeing the horrid orphanage they fled into the woods and decided to live out in the woods to avoid people who might take them back to the orphanage. They lived in the woods for the longest time living of buries and her brother learned how to hunt by making traps while she learned how to make fires. The both had their strengths and weaknesses when it came to surviving on their own. She was happy to be away from the orphanage but her brother told her she should take to looking like a guy because it might be easier for them to both survive on their own. She really didn't care because she had always been kind of a tomboy. She put her long hair into a pony tail and with a pocket knife she had found she cut off, of course this made her hair look jagged but she didn't care.
